Rosie began her envolvment in amateur boxing with her son Billy Myhre and the Tacoma Boxing Club in 1978. She does it all and served as 1990 Co-Competition Director Goodwill Games, judge, administrator, Junior Olympic Regional Chairperson, National Junior Olympic Committee, coach, book-keeper, Team Manager for USA vs Ireland, organizer.  Now with these many years of experience is the West Portland Boxing Teams "Team Mom".

Besides her many duties with the Boxing Team, Rosie is the shoulder to lean on or cry on. She is always there to comfort the youngsters and encourage them. Rosie could be rich if she charged for the hugs they get.

For many of the youngsters in the gym, having someone to show that they are cared for and loved and someone to teach them the manners needed to grow to productive men is the only victory they need and Rosie provides this service.
